Project goals
This project aims to:
- use four-month seasonal forecasts for rainfall and temperature
- couple these to a model to forecast hydrological conditions such as soil moisture and runoff
- combine this material with any signs in nature indicating drier or wetter conditions observed by local inhabitants AND observations of soil moisture from a simple network of wireless sensors
- test if this information is useful for local communities in their farm planning and management
